NEVADA DAY / HALLOWEEN

Happy Nevada Day to everyone!  Did you know that Nevada Day commemorates the admission of the state of Nevada into the union on October 31, 1864.  The first known observance of Nevada Day (originally known as "Admission Day") was by the Pacific Coast Pioneer society during the 1870s.  It was not until 1933 that the state legislature designated October 31 as Nevada Day and a state holiday.

October 31st? That is Halloween... i bet not many people know that Nevada officially became a state on Halloween.  I wonder if Andrew Jackson (U.S. President at the time) was dressed up as a Ghost or Vampire when he signed the documents making Nevada a state.  I cant image he was BUT its cool to think about, right?!

What is everyone going to dress up as this year?  We all love hearing about your great costume ideas, our patients are so creative! Did I ever say we have the best patients in the world because we do.  You guys (and girls) ROCK!

As Halloween arrives so draws an end to our 2010 Pumpkin Contest!  I would like to thank everyone for taking part in the contest and voting (stay tuned, we will post the winner sometime next week).  !

To everyone going out trick-or-treating this weekend... be safe.  Stay in a group and dont stray from your parents.  Have a great night and we'll see you in the office next week!
